The MSSC committee organise a number of social events  and activities throughout the year for its members. If you have any ideas for events or activities we could add, then please contact one of the committee.

Theatre Trips

The MSSC Committee organise three/four West End Shows (including transportation) per year, as well as Cambridge Theatre tickets. These are always very popular.  We are happy to receive requests for future shows.

Please note that due to the popularity and time-criticality of these trips, full payment is required to secure your place by the stated due date. Any unpaid reservations by the due date will be cancelled.

London Trips

The MSSC Committee organise two London Trips per year, one in May and one in November.  These trips are very popular so always book early. Full payment is required to secure your place by the stated due date.

Christmas Parties

The MSSC Children’s Christmas Party organised and run by the MSSC committee every year. Volunteers from the Marshall employees to help with this event are always welcome.

The MSSC Christmas Party is open to all employees of the Marshall Group of Companies, and is the Highlight of the Marshall Sports and Social Club’s year.

Shepreth Wildlife Park


We have two sets of Family passes, both allow:

2 adults and 2 children (aged 2-15). Under 2s enter for free.

Please note that passes are not valid on Bank Holidays

  • Wildlife Park & Gift Shop –  open every day from:10am-4:30pm (last entry 3:30pm)
  • Ringo’s Play Barn & Cafeteria  – open every day from: 11am-4:00pm

Other benefits for pass holders:

Denny Abbey and Farmland Museum

This is a very family friendly museum located in a rural setting very close to Cambridge, just off the A10 north of Waterbeach.

They hold seasonal events and activities throughout their opening season, which runs from April to October each year.

We have three sets of Family season passes, which allow:

High Lodge Parking Pass

Cambridge University Botanic Gardensorchid

MSSC have annual passes to the Cambridge University Botanic Garden – which means MSSC members get to explore all four seasons for free!

  • All employees can sign up for the bi-monthly e-news describing when plants are at their best and listing upcoming events. Register your email address with the Friends Office at
  • Friends’ news is a full-colour newsletter that comes out three times a year. Please let MSSC know if you would like a copy for your reception area.
  • At the discretion of the Director and subject to agreement of terms and dates, Corporate Friends are able to hire the Glasshouse Range or the Garden Café out-of-hours for client entertainment events. Please contact MSSC for more details.

MSSC has 6 passes available per day for MSSC members from 1st April until 30th September, and 2 per day from 1st October until 31st March. This self-hire punting only and is unlimited throughout the day.  Each pass entitles MSSC members to any vessel available from Scudamores (with exception to the punt ‘ferries’ 12 seaters).

  • Current punt bookings can be viewed online at
  • Vessels may be used from their Mill Lane Punting Station (College Backs) and Mill Lane Boatyard (Top River).
  • You can choose to travel on the College Backs or to Grantchester.  Scudamores are open from 9am until dusk.
  • A booking entitles the named person to any one vessel Scudamores has available. One punt can accommodate 5 passengers + 1 punter.
  • Two punts can be obtained if there is an unused pass available on the day; these can also be exchanged for a punt ferry (11 passengers + 1 punter) on the Grantchester side only – however this is ONLY at the discretion only of Scudamores and is not part of our corporate contract.

IWM Duxford

Our Friends of Duxford passes expired at the end of May 2018.  We have been in contact with Duxford to arrange renewal, however the ‘Friends of Duxford’ scheme no longer exists, furthermore the IWM have now also discontinued the group membership scheme.

We are looking into solutions for this – in the meantime, please accept our apologies for the unavailability.


MSSC have secured 8 “Friends of Duxford” passes (8 Adult and 8 Junior) to the Imperial War Museum Duxford – which means MSSC members get to explore the extensive collection for free!

There are all kinds of events happening all year round – find out what’s on at their website:

  • The IWM will admit one person per pass
  • MSSC has a total of 8 Adult & 8 Junior passes in circulation
  • Up to two adult and two junior passes will be provided per request from MSSC member
  • Further passes maybe issued depending on availability
  • One advance booking may be made per MSSC member
  • Adult admission is £18.00 so this is a significant saving
  • Skip the queue – go through the Friends of Duxford door at the entrance
  • Airshow weekend benefits:
    • Discounted entry only – purchase ticket in advance using the ‘Friends of Duxford’ option
    • Skipping the queue – enter through the fast lane
    • Access to “Friends of Duxford” area with seating and free tea/coffee/biscuits

Giggle and Wiggle soft play – Caxton

MSSC have 4 passes to Giggle and Wiggle, a soft play venue in Caxton, near Cambourne off the A428 and around a 20 minute drive from central Cambridge.

Inside, it has plenty of space to run around as well as a well-provisioned cafe that offers, amongst other things, an all day breakfast and a variety of hot drinks.

All you need to do is book up to two passes at a time, collect your passes from Security and get FREE entry to soft play!
